Becoming a client of Robinson & McElwee PLLC

All attorneys are required to adhere to the Code of Professional Responsibility. Among other things, this provides that we cannot represent a new client who has a dispute with a current or former client of the firm without insuring that there is no conflict of interest.

The purpose of this and other check points in the process of our representing you is to ensure that we can give you the best possible advice and service.

The best way to initiate the process is through personal contact with one of our lawyers. If you find a Practice Area page that matches your general situation, please call the contact or one of the lawyers listed on that page. Our individual lawyer profile pages provide a wealth of information as to his or her respective areas of practice and full contact information is on each profile.

Alternatively, please contact our Managing Member, Kent J. George, at 304-347-8322 or by e-mail to kjg@ramlaw.com. Mr. George will direct you to the appropriate resource.

We ask that you not send us any materials until such time as we have determined that we can represent you. This will be shown by our issuing an engagement letter to you which you will countersign and return to us. The engagement letter is an important document that defines the scope of work, our fees and rates, and other matters that are vital to our being able to serve you to the fullest.

Please understand that in some cases, issuing an engagement letter can take some time. We have designated in-house counsel to advise the firm on matters of legal ethics and whether or not specific circumstances require us to decline to represent a new client. This process is designed with your best interests at its heart.
