Elizabeth Turgeon Schindzielorz

Ms. Schindzielorz's practice is focused in the areas of environmental law, public utility law, and civil litigation. 

Ms. Schindzielorz handles environmental litigation and regulatory compliance matters involving the United States Environmental Protection Agency and the West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection.  In particular, she has experience with solid and hazardous waste issues under both federal and West Virginia law. 

Ms. Schindzielorz also represents public utilities in Formal Complaint cases and other proceedings before the West Virginia Public Service Commission. 

Additionally, she provides counsel to trade associations and industry groups; updates clients on current legislative and regulatory issues; and drafts legislation and comments to proposed regulations on their behalf. 

She co-authored an article, “Unringing the Bell: Time for EPA to Reconsider its Greenhouse Gas Endangerment Finding,” which appeared in the Spring 2014 Energy and Sustainability Issue of the West Virginia Law Review

Ms. Schindzielorz's practice also includes general civil litigation. 

Prior to joining Robinson & McElwee in 2013, Ms. Schindzielorz lived in Raleigh, North Carolina.  She is a “double-Tarheel,” having attended the University of North Carolina for both her undergraduate degree (Bachelor of Arts, with Honors and Distinction, English; minors in Environmental Studies & Music) and her Juris Doctor. 

Ms. Schindzielorz is a classical pianist and enjoys gourmet cooking and baking, nature photography, and studying early modern British literature in her spare time.
