In June 2013, Geiger, Teeple, Smith & Hahn, LLP merged with Robinson and McElwee. Founded in 1958 in Alliance, Ohio, Geiger Teeple has been a forerunner in the legal representation of oil and gas clients in the region for over 50 years. The firm’s long and extensive representation of the oil and gas industry began in the late 1950’s when Geiger Teeple was retained to represent the first oil and gas company to bring rotary drilling technology to Ohio. Since, title opinions from the firm have been heavily relied on and highly regarded by clients in the Appalachian Basin.
While Geiger Teeple has traditionally been closely associated with the oil and gas industry, the firm has maintained an active practice in other areas of the law, including a comprehensive business and civil litigation practice. The firm has developed an extensive probate and estate planning practice that has the ability to service the needs of families with estates of all sizes, including wealth transfer planning and strategies for high net worth individuals.
Much like Robinson and McElwee, Geiger Teeple’s attorneys are involved in the local community and its members serve on a variety of volunteer boards of local government and non-profit organizations.
The combined firm operates as Geiger Teeple Robinson & McElwee PLLC in Ohio, while in West Virginia Robinson & McElwee PLLC retains its original name.
