Mr. George’s practice covers a variety of litigation and business law matters, including antitrust, complex and class action cases, with a primary focus in general civil litigation in federal and state courts at the trial and appellate levels. Additionally, he provides crisis management services.

Mr. George has been involved, as co-lead counsel, in providing a defense for pharmaceutical manufacturers in the national and state opioid litigation.  Specifically, he has demonstrated an extensive understanding of the complexities of the pharmaceutical industry through his defense of pharmaceutical manufacturers, as well as a global consulting firm.  Additionally, Mr. George’s expertise extends to comprehensive knowledge of pharmaceutical benefit managers.

Mr. George represents clients as a financial services litigator and handles many forms of litigation, including antitrust, commercial, contract, banking, construction defect, industrial accident, energy-related, personal injury, product liability and employer-employee matters in state and federal courts. Also, he maintains a regional practice in the defense of claims arising from consumer defaults and foreclosures.

As a former Assistant Attorney General in the Antitrust Division of the WV Attorney General’s office, Mr. George has extensive experience in antitrust matters. Representation of clients in antitrust matters includes, but is not limited to, price-fixing and allegations of collusive and other anti-competitive behavior.  A specialty in antitrust litigation affecting the oil and gas industry, such as predatory pricing and horizontal price fixing claims.  Experience in preparation of antitrust compliance programs, policies and procedures for corporations and trade associations.

Mr. George has extensive experience in litigation case management, including complex litigation. Mr. George has experience with regard to litigation management services for corporations located in various states, including North Carolina, Ohio and Texas.

Mr. George represents national oil corporations, handling all aspects of Underground Storage Tank litigation, including litigation related to: site remediation issues, LUST (Leaking UST) issues and industry standards and practice.

With respect to complex litigation, Mr. George maintains significant experience in federal court, including class actions; extensive work in defense of a Fortune 50 client in multi-billion dollar federal civil action following industrial accident and alleged contamination; successful defense of Fortune 50 client in contract dispute of $100 million.

In addition to litigation, Mr. George successfully represents clients before the West Virginia Board of Medicine and has knowledge of HIPAA interpretation and compliance issues.

Mr. George also maintains extensive experience in alcohol beverage law matters. Mr. George formerly served as Special Assistant Attorney General to the West Virginia Alcohol Beverage Control Commission.

In his spare time, Mr. George is a country music and Western swing songwriter and singer.  His work is currently under consideration to be included in an album by a multiple Grammy award winning country music artist.  Mr. George’s Texas band includes Jason Roberts, Jake Hooker, Bobby Whitton, LeeRoy Eichler, Johnny Cox and Danny Leven.
