Pending admission to the West Virginia State Bar in October 2026, Jodon Sargent supports the firm's business law and civil litigation practices. He contributes to a wide range of business and litigation matters, leveraging experience gained through legal clerkships in private practice, public defense, prosecution, and legal aid settings.
Jodon earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Kentucky Rosenberg College of Law, where he was actively involved in both advocacy and leadership programs. During law school, he served on the Moot Court Board and Trial Advocacy Board, and earned the CALI Award for Public Health and Equity Seminar for achieving the highest grade in the class. He also served as an At-Large Representative for the Student Bar Association and was Treasurer of the First Generation Professionals Society.
Prior to joining the firm, Jodon gained extensive litigation experience through clerkships with Hutchins Law PLLC, the Kentucky Department of Public Advocacy, the Kentucky Commonwealth’s Attorney's Office, and Legal Aid of the Bluegrass. In these roles, he drafted motions, conducted legal research, reviewed case files, and worked directly with clients on a wide range of legal matters.
A native of Eastern Kentucky, Jodon earned a Bachelor of Arts in Legal Studies and Philosophy from Morehead State University, where he founded and served as president of the Philosophy Club.
Outside of the office, Jodon enjoys music, hiking, classic literature, and film.
